Help Lauren Rebuild Flour & Branch — A Beloved San Francisco Hospitality Brand in Transition
Personal Note
Hi, I’m Lauren, the founder of Flour & Branch.
What began as a bakery has grown into a deeply personal hospitality brand — and truly, my life’s work — built through years of love, labor, and belief. Over the past three to four years, I’ve faced extraordinary personal and professional hardship while continuing to serve my community and build something meaningful. I’m now in the process of relocating and rebuilding our flagship, and this fund exists to help bridge me into the next chapter.
This transition is happening right now — and this fund is designed to help bridge the immediate gap between our current location and the reopening of our new flagship.
Flour & Branch's Story
Flour & Branch is a community cornerstone in San Francisco, known for its refined, nostalgic pastries, handcrafted brunch, and deeply personal hospitality. Founded in 2020 by Lauren Arnsdorff, Flour & Branch has been featured in Forbes, Eater SF, The Infatuation, Food Network Online, Reader's Digest, and more, and is loved by thousands of loyal customers across California and beyond.
Lauren built Flour & Branch from the ground up — first in a small commercial kitchen, and then into a full storefront — pouring years of savings, labor, and heart into creating a place that feels like home to so many.
Over the past several years, Lauren has faced a series of extraordinary and compounding challenges — including severe flooding and building failures at her leased location, prolonged disputes related to landlord negligence, and major personal upheaval during a divorce — all while continuing to operate the business, support her team, and serve her community.
Despite national recognition and growing institutional partnerships (including Stanford University, major technology and VC firms, and upcoming Super Bowl activations), the financial impact of these disruptions has made it difficult to bridge into the next chapter alone.
Lauren is currently in the process of relocating and rebuilding Flour & Branch’s flagship — a hopeful and strategic next step that will allow the brand to grow, stabilize, and continue serving the community for years to come. The new flagship will allow Flour & Branch to expand its hospitality offerings, host community gatherings, and serve as a creative home for both long-time guests and new partners for years to come.
