Hi, my name is Lauren, and I’m reaching out for support during one of the most challenging times in my life.

I was recently diagnosed with a spinal meningioma—a tumor growing near my spinal cord. While these tumors are typically benign, they can be dangerous as they press against the spinal cord and nerves. In my case, it’s already affecting my ability to move, function, and live comfortably day to day.

The only way to treat this is through spinal surgery, which I’ve been told I need as soon as possible to prevent long-term or permanent nerve damage. It’s a delicate and complex procedure, and recovery will involve time off work, follow-up care, and physical rehabilitation.

Even with insurance, the medical costs are overwhelming—between imaging, specialist visits, surgery, and recovery, the out-of-pocket expenses are more than I can manage alone. On top of that, I’ve already had to miss work due to the symptoms, which adds more financial stress.
