Help Lauren Fight Multi-Drug Resistant Bacteria!

We need your help to save Lauren from a life-threatening bacterial infection that has taken a tremendous toll on her life. Lauren, a courageous 22-year-old, has been battling a severe condition caused by Multi-Drug Resistant Organisms (MDRO) bacteria for over six years. She first acquired this infection after a traumatic car accident on August 19, 2018, where she was found unconscious and had been ejected from the vehicle. Lauren was rushed to Kendall Regional Hospital, facing extensive injuries and multiple surgeries on her face, eyes, and respiratory system.

Despite her brave fight, Lauren’s condition has become critical. Due to the MDRO infection, her facial surgeries and grafts have been compromised. This has resulted in numerous setbacks, including a tracheostomy and the loss of vision in her right eye. However, the MDRO infection persists, and without a new treatment approach, Lauren’s quality of life remains at serious risk.

Now, we have found a ray of hope through an international medical study led by a Canadian pharmaceutical team. This company specializes in creating customized phage therapy drugs designed specifically to target antibiotic-resistant bacteria. This involves formulating a phage-cocktail drug tailored to combat the unique bacterial strains impacting Lauren. This innovative therapy could make all the difference in her recovery. However, because each phage treatment is custom-made and experimental, the costs—estimated at $40,000 to $60,000—are far beyond her financial means, and insurance does not cover experimental drugs.
