Help Lauren Launch Her Audio Career

Hello beautiful humans!

My name is Lauren and I graduated last May with my degree in broadcast journalism in radio! During my education I fell in love with all things audio. Interviewing, recording, audio editing, mixing and producing. I especially love learning about people and forming connections through meaningful conversations.

To my dismay, it has been hard to find a job. Even a part-time job or a gig has been hard to come by. I really want to use my skills, I want to continue to learn and strengthen what has already been placed on my heart. I just found out my computer (a hand-me-down 2013 MacBook Pro that got me through college) is too old to handle the software I need to practice what I have learned, let alone be able to accept freelance editing jobs when they come around.

I am looking for support with purchasing a new laptop, so that I can work from where I need and also an Adobe Audition subscription and recording equipment. I want to get going on things and make some of my dreams come true, including working on my podcast idea that aims to help people connect with their truest self and explore a conversation that I believe is necessary and important.

I also want to be able to start practicing and recording voiceover work. I fell in love with voiceover as well and I believe this could be a great way to earn money and save for my future, while working from home.

I would greatly appreciate any amount you can give. I feel so confident and able to do this work, I am just looking for an opportunity to do the work. Since it hasn't happened in the professional broadcast journalism field (yet!) I figure the next best option is making things happen for myself by creating work I care about and building my portfolio on my own, while I wait for work from a company or organization.
