Lauren is my best friend, and she has been struggling with hearing loss for some time. Recently, she underwent an in-depth audiology appointment to assess the extent of her hearing loss. Unfortunately, Lauren is not a candidate for cochlear implants to be covered by her insurance because her loss doesn't meet their criteria. To make matters more challenging, her insurance will not cover the cost of hearing aids either. Lauren's current hearing situation requires that she get hearing aids to help stimulate the part of her brain that regulates speech processing and to prevent further deterioration of her speech perception.

All funds raised through this fundraiser will be used to help Lauren pay for her hearing aids and any future appointments related to her hearing. These medical expenses are essential for her well-being, but without insurance coverage, they present a significant financial challenge. Lauren is a devoted family member and works hard to provide for her loved ones, so the added burden of these costs is especially difficult.
