Help Lauren Heal without Financial Stress

Lauren Faiella is our niece and my god daughter. She is 29 years old, has a very out going, friendly, fun, up beat personality. She is a loving, caring, compassionate person. She is a very hard worker and supports herself.
Lauren has Ulcerative Colitis. She has had ileostomy surgery on July 3rd 2019 to have her whole large intestines removed- this was a 6 hour surgery. An ileostomy is a surgery that makes a temporary or permanent opening called a stoma. A stoma is a pathway from the lowest part of the small intestine, called the ileum, to the outside of your abdomen. This helps solid waste and gas exit the body without passing through the colon or the rectum. The waste is collected in a pouch worn on the outside of your body.
That was performed after 5 years of countless allergic reactions to all medications available, constant pain, constant suffering, and constantly not being able to work and as medical bills for supplies, hospital stays, tests and Drs. add up.
She had been in the hospital several times since the ileostomy surgery because she has had obstructions/blockages..which meant more testing, more pain, more suffering and more time out of work..and medical bills adding up even more.
On February 3rd 2021 Lauren had the first of two surgeries in order to reverse the ileostomy. This surgery took 9 hours. The doctors had to reconstruct her intestines/colon and make what’s called a “j pouch”. Surgery went as planned with out any surprises or complications. Lauren will be in the hospital for about 5-7 days...
The second surgery will be in 8-10 weeks after the first. That surgery basically will connect everything together and closed the stoma. There is no guarantee that after the two surgeries that all will work well, but Lauren is otherwise healthy, so her odds are good that it will all eventually function properly.
Lauren will be out of work for sometime due to this surgery and the next one. On top of all the medical expenses and bills she already incurred, these two reversal surgeries will be adding a lot more to that.
We are asking for donations so Lauren can concentrate on healing from her surgeries and to alleviate stress from this financial burden.
We appreciate any amount that you can donate, we understand times are hard now during the pandemic...if you can’t donate please share this so others may.

Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn’s disease affect more individuals than you may think. It is estimated that as many as 3 million Americans suffer from It. While many suffer in silence.
