Help Lauren Get Life-Saving Medical Treatment
Lauren Louck is the 34-year-old daughter of our beloved friends, Bud and Sue Louck. Until early 2024, Lauren was a vibrant, healthy young woman pursuing her Ph.D. in Nutrition Science in Washington, D.C. She was driven, full of life, and passionate about making a difference in the world.
But everything changed in January 2024.
Lauren was suddenly struck by a series of debilitating medical conditions—primarily neurological in nature—that have completely turned her life upside down. She lost spinal stability and became unable to sit or stand without experiencing severe symptoms such as dizziness, intense pain, blood pooling, and dangerous spikes in heart rate. For the past eight months, she has been bedridden, and for over a year and a half, she has been visiting doctors in search of answers.
She has recently been diagnosed with dysautonomia/POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome)—a serious disorder that affects the autonomic nervous system. However, doctors still do not know the root cause of her condition. Further testing and specialized treatment are urgently needed to uncover what’s really happening in her body.
Lauren’s greatest medical needs are not covered by Medi-Cal, and the nearest specialists and treatment centers are hours away—creating an enormous financial burden for the family.
Despite her declining health, Lauren showed tremendous resilience and completed her Ph.D. program while lying flat in bed. But with her condition worsening, she’s had to leave her home in DC, step away from her career, and put all her dreams on hold.
We’re raising $27,000 to help cover:
• Specialized medical treatments not covered by insurance
• Out-of-state travel and lodging for treatment
• Ongoing testing and care to determine the root cause
• Supportive therapies and equipment to help her manage daily life
Lauren is a fighter. She has shown unshakable courage, but she and her family can’t face this alone. Many of us have been the grateful recipients of Bud and Sue's love, prayers, counsel and ministry over the years. We’re asking for your support—whether through a donation, a share, or your prayers. Let’s help Lauren take her first steps back toward health, hope, and healing.
