Hi everyone!

My name is Kaleigh, and I’m reaching out to family, friends, and friends of friends—anyone who wants to chip in.

Our friend Lauren needs our help. She has been struggling with difficulties walking for a long time now, but two years ago, she was officially diagnosed with an osteochondral lesion. It wasn’t caused by an injury, but her connective tissue degrading, which made it incredibly painful to walk. She tried to ignore the pain, but the instability it caused while she walked started tearing at the tendons in her feet.

She tried to figure out non-invasive solutions. However, she recently got the news that she had to get surgery fast or she would lose the ability to walk.

She elected to go ahead with the surgery, knowing that not being able to walk would make things even more expensive, and she would lose job opportunities. However, now she is swimming in medical bills, and overwhelmed with an expensive recovery process.

Our goal is $12,000.00 which would cover surgery bills, recovery equipment such as a special chair to keep her from slipping in the shower and suffering another major injury, physical therapy equipment to get back on her feet before the muscles start to atrophy, and some money to help her buy groceries and eek her way through the stretch of time that she can’t work.

(She has already had to turn away much needed jobs because she can’t physically be present for the work).

Please don’t feel like you can’t chip in if you don’t have a lot to give. $10, $5, or even $1 will make a difference because every little bit helps ease the burden of this sudden financial crisis.

Thank you for reading, and if you can find some money to spare, thank you in advance. I hate seeing any of my friends hurting, but it is amazing what we can do as a community when we come together to help each other.

With love,
Kaleigh
