Help Lauren DeCarlo Overcome Health Challenges

Please assist my sister, Lauren DeCarlo, during a very challenging time in her life. Lauren and her high school sweetheart, Joe DeCarlo, were married in 1983 and had three children—Heather, Josh, and Stephen—whom they are incredibly proud of. Tragically, Joe was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and passed away after a courageous battle seven years ago. His loss has been devastating to Lauren, their children, and all who knew him, including family, friends, and coworkers. Joe was a dedicated husband, father, and employee, and his absence has left an irreplaceable void in their lives.
Lauren’s struggles continued after Joe’s passing. Diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at 28, this chronic illness has profoundly impacted every aspect of her life. Over the past eight years, she has been hospitalized multiple times for complications from Crohn’s disease, and enduring these health challenges without her husband by her side has been emotionally difficult. The toll of the disease, combined with the physical effects of radiation, chemotherapy, and strong medications, has weakened both her body and spirit.
Unfortunately, the medications and treatments have also caused significant deterioration to her dental health, resulting in the loss of several teeth. Recently, her dentist advised her that all of her remaining teeth need to be removed due to the ongoing damage caused by her treatments. Sadly, her insurance does not cover the cost of the extractions or dentures, adding an overwhelming burden to her already challenging situation.
In addition to her dental issues, Lauren also struggles with limited mobility. Her physician has recommended knee replacement surgery, which has brought some hope and light to her situation. However, her rheumatologist let her know that she is no longer a candidate for knee replacement due to her physical condition. This condition will most likely render her to a wheel chair. To relive the pain and discomfort she is trying to get synvic injections 2-3 times per year but her co-pay is $452.00 per knee and cant afroed it.
Lauren lives alone in an upstairs apartment and relies on disability as her sole source of income. She also has her beloved companion, a pet, to keep her company.
Given her ongoing health battles, financial strain, and lack of coverage for essential treatments, Lauren is in need of support. Any assistance or resources would greatly alleviate her burdens and help her navigate through this difficult time.
