When my sister-in-law, Lauren, went into the hospital on the fourth of January with acute appendicitis, she could not have anticipated still being in the hospital more than 10 days later. Unfortunately, she had experienced some serious complications post-appendectomy, requiring multiple scans, meds, and a follow-up surgery. It's been pretty scary. While her health has been up and down, she's finally trending in the right direction. Praise the Lord!! She's missed a ton of work and will likely miss even more as she continues to recover.

We're hoping she'll be released from the hospital today or tomorrow. But a lot of that depends on her upcoming blood work and scans. My little brother has also taken time off without pay, caring for their 2 children on his own and advocating for her while she's been in the hospital.

I'm trying to help them alleviate some of the financial burdens as they are facing these major medical bills coming up, by covering their basic needs for a few months. The goal is to cover their rent and utilities for 3 months to get them through. If you can help at all, it is greatly appreciated.
