Help Lauren and Baby Overcome Life Saving Medical Expenses

For 12 years Lauren has selflessly cared for countless patients as a dedicated nurse. Now, she has become the patient and her family is humbly asking for assistance with her medical needs.

Miracles do happen, or at least for a young mother of a 3- year- old and expecting another one. What was supposed to be a joyous occasion suddenly turned for the worse. Lauren was not only feeding and nourishing her 11-week baby growing inside her, but unbeknownst to her she had developed a tumor in her brain. This tumor was rapidly intensifying and building a giant bubble of fluid putting pressure on her brain.

Over a month's period, Lauren made many visits to her doctors and day to day visits to the Emergency room only to be sent home with the diagnosis of "common pregnancy symptoms." She experienced all the first trimester symptoms; nausea, fatigue, and dizziness even headaches, vertigo, and confusion, but instead of the weight gain new expected mothers should be experiencing, she was losing weight, not being able to eat or hold down sips of water. Also, not being able to talk, walk, or even know her surroundings, such as who, what, or where she was. The final straw and breaking point came at her last visit to the Emergency room. After being there for 9 hours with fluids pumped in her system and a variety of blood tests along with hours of intense observation, family members became persistent that something else besides the norm of pregnancy symptoms was the reason of the hell she was going through. Finally, Lauren's OBGYN admitted her and ordered a simple test of an MRI. This is where the MIRACLE began and came to life. The results showed she had a tumor in her brain therefore she was immediately ambulanced to North Central Baptist Hospital in San Antonio for a critical and urgent craniectomy brain surgery. It was a life and death situation if not treated immediately and that is what they did. With several guardian angels by her side (doctors, surgeons, and nurses) surgery was performed. By the grace of GOD, and this team of medical staff (guardian angels) the surgery was a success and both mother and baby are on their road to recovery -but not without a mountain of out-of-pocket expenses.
