Help Lauren After Her Tragic Accident

Hi, my name is Yvonne. I am Lauren Mindel’s cousin. At the end of this past January, our beloved daughter/sister/cousin was in a horrific head-on car accident. We still don’t know what caused the accident, but based on the police investigation and witness statements, we believe Lauren had a medical episode that left her unconscious at the wheel. After the head-on collision, it took emergency services over an hour to free her from her vehicle. She was immediately transported to Albany Medical Center and admitted to the ICU. She was in intubated and stayed in the ICU for almost 2 months while she was taken care of by the most amazing doctors and nurses. She had multiple life-saving surgeries and it was discovered that she is permanently paralyzed from her ribs down. The list of her additional injuries is too extensive to list. She has since been sent to Sunnyview Rehabilitation Center to begin intensive occupational and physical therapies. We are reaching out and asking for help for my cousin and aunt and uncle to help with the immense medical bills and medical supplies that are now needed. Along with all the new living expenses that my aunt, uncle, and her sister, Amelia, will have since Lauren will need a new place to live that is ADA compliant.
