In February of 2022, I was in a ski accident that has dramatically changed my life over the last four years. Numerous surgeries and medical procedures later, it has been determined that leaving my cervical spine untreated is dangerous, and the only solution is a cervical spine fusion to be performed by Dr. Gill of the Steadman Clinic in Vail.

I am hopeful that this procedure will be the final step in returning to the active career and life I enjoyed before the injury.

I am asking for help to raise the funds for the out-of-pocket deductible not covered by my health insurance. This will allow me to afford the scheduled surgery April 7, and plan for a successful recovery so I can return to teaching and an active lifestyle next season.

While the injury itself was a workman’s comp covered accident, the battle over continued coverage of my cervical spine continues to be denied by insurance. Due to this reason, I have elected to pay out of pocket to receive the surgery so I can move forward in life.
