Help Laurel Fight Colorectal Cancer
Donation protected
Just one month ago, my sister, Laurel Sullivan, received the shocking diagnosis of Stage 4 colorectal cancer. I am starting this fundraiser so you and others like you can contribute to helping Laurel face this on her own terms.
She has almost completed a course of radiation, which will be followed by 16 weeks of chemotherapy. The radiation treatments have left her exhausted - a predictor that chemo may also be quite hard on her body. Money is already tight, and she will likely be needing to go on temporary disability at her job.
As of now, Laurel has medical insurance through her employer, which we are extremely grateful for. However, the reduced salary she will be getting on disability is going to make it difficult to pay her bills.
Whatever contribution you can afford will help give Laurel a little financial cushion so that she doesn’t have to add financial stress to her difficulties.
It would also be fantastic if she could afford to get acupuncture, which is not covered by insurance, to help improve her quality of life during treatment.
We also hope to be able to afford to to send Laurel on a trip to the beach in August or September when she finishes chemo. It’s been years since she’s seen the ocean and it’s her dream that she get to have that experience again.
If you can’t afford to contribute money, here are some other excellent ways you can help:
- sharing this campaign on your social media
- your thoughts and prayers
Pittsburgh residents, Laurel can use:
- transportation to treatment appointments
- gifts of food to her household
Reach out to me here to coordinate.
Thank you so much for rooting for Laurel!
