I’m writing this today because my dear friend, Laurel Fae, is in urgent need of support. She is one of the most kind, talented, and resilient people I know—an incredible artist, a beautiful soul, and someone who has fought tirelessly against unimaginable hardships. And now, she needs us.

For six years, Laurel has been battling for disability benefits while living with severe chronic illnesses that make even daily life a struggle. Despite everything, she has held onto hope, pouring her heart into her art and community. But the reality is, without help, she may lose her home and any stability before she can secure the support she deserves.

What Laurel Is Facing

Laurel is in constant pain. Basic things that most of us take for granted—standing, walking, working—are battles for her. And yet, she keeps pushing forward. She has been fighting for disability approval, but the process is long and cruel. With the current state of affairs, rising healthcare costs, and recent legislation..."difficult" doesn't even scratch the surface of dealing with the healthcare system. Right now, she is at risk of losing her housing, and the only reason she isn’t already on the street is because of the kindness of friends.

Laurel’s Art: A Window into the Ethereal

Laurel’s art is more than just paintings—it is a visual diary of the profound experiences she has lived through. Her visionary works are from both visions and dreams she has had since a little girl and are also shaped by an extraordinary event: a near-death experience that allowed her to glimpse into realms beyond our own. These ethereal landscapes, rich in color and emotion, depict the places she has explored during all those journeys—the astral plane, the liminal space between suffering and beauty, the sacred truths revealed through pain, and the deep resilience of the human soul.

Her work speaks to something universal: the trials we endure, the heartbreak of loss, and the love that remains despite it all. Through her art, Laurel captures the weight of suffering and the brilliance of creation—the paradox of beauty born from struggle. Each brushstroke carries a story, a memory, a truth that words alone cannot express.

Her paintings serve as a reminder that we, too, can find light in the darkest places. And now, in her time of need, she deserves that same light and support from the world she has so beautifully translated onto canvas.
