In January, our lives changed in an instant. My husband suffered a sudden heart attack while we were still in the process of securing health insurance. What followed was a long and frightening two-month stay in the ICU, filled with uncertainty, hope, and the fight to keep him alive.
During his recovery, he developed a severe blood clot in his right leg that required emergency surgery. The procedure saved his life, but it came at a devastating cost—nerve damage that has left him with drop foot, chronic pain, and numbness from the knee down. Today, he struggles to stand or walk and is unable to drive, making even the simplest daily tasks incredibly difficult.
As we were trying to adjust to this new reality, we faced another unexpected hardship. We both worked for the same company, and before my husband was even able to return to work, we were both let go. Overnight, we lost our primary source of income during one of the most critical times in our lives.
My husband was our family’s main provider, and now we are facing mounting medical bills, our mortgage, and everyday living expenses without a steady income. On top of that, he has a long road ahead with physical therapy and ongoing care, and he depends on me for transportation and support as he cannot drive.
I am actively searching for work, but balancing that with caregiving has been incredibly challenging. We are doing everything we can to stay strong, but we truly need help.
Any support—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing our story—would mean the world to us. Your kindness will help us stay in our home, manage medical expenses, and give my husband the chance to heal and regain as much independence as possible.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can give during this incredibly difficult time.
