Help Laura's Family Overcome Heart Crisis

Hi. I'm Jamie. My mom Jan and I are asking for a second of your time to read my sweet sister and her new husband's story. My sister Laura and her husband Brian have a precious 1 1/2 year old son together and my sister's 10 yo son and 7 yo daughter from a previous marriage. Suddenly, last week, Brian became very ill and ended up in ICU on a ventilator. He was diagnosed with atrial fibrillation, pulmonary edema and heart failure. His ejection fraction is 15%, which means his heart function is extremely low.

Through the many prayers of our wonderful family and friends and the Grace of God, Brian improved and was able to come off the ventilator and go home. But he has a very long road ahead of cardiac rehab to get his heart function at a livable level, so that he hopefully will not need a heart transplant. We don't know if or when he will be able to go back to work. He and Laura are hard workers, but have very modest jobs and no short term disability. Without Brian's income, they will be unable to make ends meet. They have never asked for anything, and, in fact, it took a lot of debate and consideration before deciding to even do this, but they are such good people, and I know there are good people out there who might be willing to help, even if just a little.

Every dollar would be so meaningful and greatly appreciated. We know times are tough for everyone right now, but even the smallest donations can add up to help them get back on their feet.
