On December 2, 2025, Molly came home from work to a nightmare no one is ever prepared for. She found her fiancé, Laura, lying injured in the horse pasture and suffering from hypothermia. Laura was rushed to the hospital, where doctors placed her in a medically induced coma. She remains in the ICU at UK and is currently on a ventilator.
Molly and Laura’s family are now working closely with her medical team to find a long-term care facility where Laura can be transferred. The immediate goal is for Laura to breathe on her own, and after that, to begin rehabilitation. The road ahead is long, but Laura is strong, determined, and a fighter. Those who know her truly believe she will get back in the saddle someday.
Right now, though, Molly needs help.
Since this happened, Molly has been by Laura’s side every day. In doing so, she has been without income for over a month and must soon return to work out of necessity. The financial strain is growing quickly. Funds raised will help cover the mortgage and the cost of keeping their farm running during this crisis.
The farm is home to a lot of lives that still need daily care: 10 horses, 11 cats, and 3 dogs. Caring for them is a labor of love—but it’s also a significant financial and physical responsibility.
Laura has devoted her life to animals, especially horses, and to her community. She teaches horsemanship classes and riding lessons, sharing her knowledge and passion with others—especially young people—so they can learn confidence, responsibility, and respect through working with these incredible animals. She has given so much of herself to others, and now she needs that same kindness returned.
Any donation, no matter the size, will help ease the burden on Molly and allow her to focus on what matters most: being there for Laura and keeping their animals safe and cared for. If you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this fundraiser and keeping Laura and Molly in your thoughts.
Thank you for your compassion and support during this incredibly difficult time.
