What happened: Earlier this year, our dear friend Laura began experiencing severe health issues, and was soon diagnosed with a uterine tumor. Due to the urgency and seriousness of her condition, she was required to immediately undergo an emergency abdominal hysterectomy. The surgery took place at a hospital in Liberia, which is several hours away from her home. Since the hospital could not accommodate extended stays, Laura had no choice but to stay in a hotel during her initial recovery period—significantly increasing the overall cost of the process.
The Financial Impact: The people of Montezuma have been incredibly generous in helping to cover part of Laura’s medical and travel expenses. However, she still owes $3500 related to:
- Hospital and surgical fees
- Post-operative care
- Medication and medical supplies
- Hotel accommodation and transportation during recovery
Laura is currently recovering, and due to the nature of her surgery, she’s unable to work. The stress of mounting debt during this healing process is something no one should have to face alone.
How You Can Help: We are kindly asking for your support to help Laura cover the remaining $3500 in medical-related expenses. Every contribution—big or small—brings her one step closer to full recovery without the added burden of financial hardship.
If you're unable to donate, please consider sharing this campaign with others. Your support, prayers, and kindness mean the world.
Thank you for standing with Laura during this difficult time.
With gratitude from our wonderful friend, and on behalf of the Montezuma community, I thank you for any contributions you can share with her here. Thank you!
