Help Laura Overcome Cancer's Challenges
Donation protected
Laura was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast cancer in 2021, already at Stage 3. She received chemotherapy, surgery and radiation to treat this, but unfortunately the cancer returned and showed up in her pituitary gland which required a brutally invasive surgery and more radiation. She then got the devastating news that tumors had spread to her brain and had to receive whole-brain radiation, which took a lot out of her, but that seemed to work. Sadly, the cancer spread again to other parts of her body, including bones, liver, lung, chest wall, spleen, and kidney. Her life has been a whirlwind of doctor appointments, scans, biopsies, and medications that make her weak, sick and unable to work. Never one to give up, she is now faced with the fact that nothing seems to be working. In fact, she just got the devastating news that more spots are on her brain, causing her to have seizures and she is in the hospital now. In the midst of all of this, she got into a terrible car accident and her only means of transportation was totaled. She has to rely on her family and friends to help her with transportation. In addition, she has been struggling with insurance and was removed from any form of medical assistance because she receives just enough from social security to put her over the allowable threshold to qualify for Medicaid or food assistance. The small amount she receives does not cover her regular living expenses, let alone her enormous medical bills. Laura has always been fiercely independent, which makes this even worse for her. She has always been the person to help others-donating to worthy causes, giving gifts for special occasions and being very active with the Catholic Church. The treatments that she has been getting for years now are physically draining, but also come with overwhelming financial burdens and she cannot get out from under the crushing debt. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to easing the weight on Laura's shoulders. If you are able to donate, please consider sharing this with your friends, family and community. With your support, she can focus on healing, resting and living the rest of her life peacefully, not stressing about bills. Thank you so much for your kindness, prayers and support.
