Help Laura Leyva Beat Breast Cancer

My name is Heather. I am a nurse at a health facility in Kansas. I am helping create a GoFundMe page for a very special patient. Our facility has exhausted all resources inside the state of Kansas and even reaching out to national organizations. Over 30 facilities and organizations have been contacted and sadly there are VERY little resources out there available for patients in Lauras situation. Below is a little bit of information about this special person, written by a good friend of theirs.

Laura Leyva has recently been diagnosed with a type of cancer called invasive ductal carcinoma. She and her husband Julio have lived and worked in the Manhattan community for over 20 years. Laura is well known for her delicious tamales and is a rare gem, possessing a generous, hospitable heart. Julio has worked in various construction jobs with his 'can do' attitude; he has always remained undaunted by even the most challenging and ridiculous requests. Because of circumstances outside of their control, Julio and Laura do not qualify for Medicaid, Medicare, or any health insurance and must pay for the medical expenses out of pocket. Fortunately, the breast cancer is still in early stages, but they must come up with the payment before surgery can be done. Please consider donating towards her surgery - every amount helps.
