Help Laura Rebuild: A Vehicle for Hope & Healing

Amid unspeakable sorrow, I want to extend heartfelt support to Laura Lee Watts. Just four months ago, Laura tragically lost her 16-year-old daughter Savannah to a seizure- a devastating event that has left her grappling with immeasurable grief.

While trying to navigate through this overwhelming pain, life's challenges have further burdened Laura. Due to the initial shock & grief, she missed two car payments, resulting in the repossession of her vehicle by her ex-partner. This loss of transportation has added immense difficulty to her daily life, making it a struggle to commute to work & attend to the needs of her two remaining children.

Laura, a single mother, currently works at a bar, tirelessly balancing her responsibilities. However, without reliable transportation, she has been forced to borrow a vehicle from people around her, compounding her already heavy load. The weight of her grief, combined with financial hardships and the relentless demands of everyday life, has left Laura feeling overwhelmed and isolated.

As a community, we have the power to make a great impact. A GoFundMe campaign was initiated four months ago to help Laura during her darkest hours, and it raised approximately $1,600. Unfortunately, in these past four months, Laura has only received $500 of the funds. Recognizing the ball that was dropped, I'm stepping forward to uplift a friend in need. Laura has been set up as the sole beneficiary, ensuring that she will have complete control over the funds raised. I am taking it upon myself to spearhead this effort, ensuring that every dollar raised goes directly to Laura.

We aim to help Laura secure a vehicle, restore her independence and provide reliable transportation. Additionally, we seek to alleviate the financial burden of bills, allowing her the space and time to heal amidst her immeasurable grief. We also want to be transparent that the GoFundMe campaign is not intended to cover medical or funeral expenses, as Laura's generous mother has graciously shouldered that burden.
