Dear Friends and Family,

Many may know or remember Laura. She did her student teaching at Dixie School (now known as Lucas Valley), long-term subbed at Dixie and MES, and has taught in the East Bay for almost a decade. During her summers, she has been a teacher in the Summer Crest summer school program. When COVID hit, Laura diligently quarantined during the Pandemic only to be rushed to the ER with a broken pelvis back in April 2021. Unfortunately, she was also diagnosed with colon cancer. She was placed in a skilled nursing facility for over a month, was forced to go home, and is now in another facility. She still needs 24-hour care and Kaiser will not cover any of it. Please feel free to reach out to me directly, but, please consider helping out a wonderful teacher in her time of need. Feel free to pass this on to someone who would be willing to help a special educator.
