Help Laura haar (t)huis opnieuw op te bouwen na brand

Laura (25) heeft in haar jonge leven al meer meegemaakt dan de meeste mensen ooit zullen meemaken.

Laura groeide op samen met haar moeder. Ze waren een sterk en liefdevol team.

Tot vijf jaar geleden, wanneer Laura haar moeder op tragische wijze om het leven werd gebracht. Een verlies dat haar wereld op z’n kop zette.

Toch bleef Laura vechten. Met de erfenis van haar moeder kocht ze een huisje van 30m² in Spanje, haar veilige plek, haar droom. Het was niet alleen een nieuw begin, maar ook een tastbare herinnering aan haar moeder.

Vorig jaar durfde ze eindelijk de stap te zetten om daar te gaan wonen. Eindelijk leek er weer rust en ruimte voor een toekomst.

Afgelopen weekend is haar huis vermoedelijk door kortsluiting met een ventilator afgebrand. In één klap verloor Laura álles, haar kleding, meubels, persoonlijke spullen, en vooral: haar veilige plek.

Alsof dat nog niet zwaar genoeg is, was haar huis op dat moment niet verzekerd. Laura had een jaarlijkse polis die telkens verlengd moest worden. Omdat haar verzekeraar werd overgenomen door een ander bedrijf was ze nog in onderhandeling over de nieuwe premie. Dat proces duurde zo lang dat haar woning tijdelijk onverzekerd bleef.

De spaarrekeningen van Laura en haar familie zijn helaas niet voldoende om deze enorme schade te herstellen. De kosten voor een nieuwe start zijn simpelweg te hoog.

Met deze doneeractie willen we haar helpen om opnieuw op te bouwen.

Zodat ze weer een plek krijgt waar ze zich veilig en thuis kan voelen.

A Laura se le quemó la casa entera, ayúdanos a reconstruir su casa

Laura (25) ha atravesado, en sus pocos años de vida, más desafíos de los que cualquiera debería enfrentar.

Creció junto a su madre, con quien formaba un equipo fuerte, muy unido y lleno de amor.

Pero hace cinco años, todo cambió: su madre fue víctima de un acto violento que le arrebató la vida. Una pérdida devastadora que le dio un vuelco a su mundo y marcó un antes y un después.

Aun así, Laura siguió luchando. Con la herencia de su madre compró una casita de 30 m² en España, su lugar seguro, su sueño. No solo fue un nuevo comienzo, sino también un recuerdo tangible de su madre.

El año pasado finalmente se atrevió a dar el paso y mudarse allí. Por fin parecía haber paz y espacio para un futuro.

El pasado fin de semana su casa se quemó, probablemente por un cortocircuito con un ventilador. En un instante, Laura perdió todo: su ropa, muebles, pertenencias personales y, sobre todo, su lugar seguro.

Como si eso no fuera suficientemente duro, en ese momento, su casa no estaba asegurada. Laura tenía una póliza anual que debía renovar cada año. Pero debido a que su aseguradora fue adquirida por otra empresa, aún estaba negociando la nueva prima. Ese proceso tardó tanto que su vivienda quedó temporalmente sin seguro.

Las cuentas de ahorro de Laura y su familia, lamentablemente, no son suficientes para reparar este gran daño. Los gastos para un nuevo comienzo son simplemente demasiado altos.

Laura (25) has already experienced more in her young life than most people will ever go through.

Laura grew up with only her mother. They were a strong and loving team. Until five years ago, when Laura’s mother was tragically killed. A loss that turned her world upside down.

Still, Laura kept fighting. With her mother’s inheritance, she bought a small 30m² house in Spain—her safe haven, her dream. It wasn’t just a new beginning, but also a tangible memory of her mother.

Last year, she finally found the courage to move there. At last, it seemed there was peace again, and room for a future.

This past weekend, her house burned down due to a short circuit in a fan. In an instant, Laura lost everything—her clothes, furniture, personal belongings, and most of all: her safe space.

As if that weren’t devastating enough, her house was not insured at the time. Laura had an annual insurance policy that needed to be renewed each year. Because her insurer had been taken over by another company, she was still negotiating the new premium. That process took so long that her home was temporarily left uninsured.

Unfortunately, Laura’s and her family’s savings are not enough to recover from this massive loss. The cost of a new beginning is simply too high.
