Help Laura Get Back on Her Feet: A GoFundMe for ACL Surgery

Dear friends, family and beloved community,

My name is Laura Vasquez, and I’m reaching out to you during one of the most challenging times in my life. I have always been passionate about soccer and staying active, but after three knee surgeries due to sports injuries, I find myself facing an uphill battle.

On November 3rd, 2023, I underwent an ACL reconstruction on my right knee. While I hoped this would be the turning point in my recovery, I recently learned from another surgeon that my surgery didn’t go as planned. The complications have left me with ongoing pain and the inability to do any activities without pain such as walking. Making it difficult to engage in any physical activity, like playing soccer, something that has always brought me joy and fulfillment.

Unfortunately, as we do not have insurance and as I’m now in college, my high school’s insurance no longer covers my medical needs. This has put a significant financial strain on me and my family, and I’m left feeling uncertain about my future in sports and my overall well-being.

I’m reaching out for help to raise funds for a revision surgery that I desperately need to regain my strength and mobility as well as to stop the deterioration of my knee. Each contribution, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to reclaiming my life and passion for soccer.
