A Community Hero Needs Our Help

Laura Freeman’s life changed in an instant this month (Sept 2025). What began as what she thought was a simple stomach cramp led to an emergency room visit and a devastating diagnosis: Stage 4 cancer.

For over 20 years, Laura has been at the heart of the Katy, Texas community. She’s the woman who:

• Dedicated two decades to serving families through PTA work, rising to PTA president of Katy ISD and later worked on the state level

• Volunteered countless hours supporting young athletes through USA Swimming programs

• Currently serves families facing clothing insecurity at Clothed By Faith, a Houston area nonprofit based in Katy

• Touched hundreds of lives through her selfless community service

Laura is a mother to two young adult children. She’s also a daughter, sister, aunt, and treasured friend who has quietly made the entire Houston area community stronger.

The Challenge We Face Together:

Laura works for a small nonprofit and does not have health insurance coverage. She has already begun chemotherapy treatment but will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. The medical bills are mounting, and basic living expenses continue.

This is our chance to give back to someone who has given so much.

Every dollar raised will go directly toward:

• Essential medical treatments and medications

• Daily living expenses while Laura cannot work

• Transportation to and from medical appointments

• Nutritional support during treatment

Teachers, parents, community organizations, and families throughout the Houston area have all benefited from Laura’s dedication - often without even knowing her name.
