Help us support Laura and Brock as Laura fights Stage 4 colon cancer! The couple will use this funding to pay for medical bills and other expenses related to cancer treatment.

If you don't know Laura and Brock, you are missing out! The Rapid City residents are both cyclists, outdoor adventurers, and proud parents of Ripley the Australian cattle dog and Stanley Vanley, their bright yellow 1976 camper van. Laura works as a customer service/sales associate at a bike shop, loves gardening and animals, and is a talented photographer and vegetable grower. Brock is a self-employed engineer who loves to ski, work on cars and bikes, and make cool things with 3D printers.

Laura is uninsured because neither her nor Brock's job offer health insurance, they don't qualify for Medicaid, and they can't use a Marketplace plan until 2026. They’ve applied for a charity care program that can reduce their bills and Brock is looking for a new job that offers health insurance.

This fundraiser will be used to pay for Laura’s medical bills while she remains uninsured or that aren’t covered by charity care or insurance. Since being diagnosed in July, Laura already owes hundreds of thousands of dollars for diagnostic scans, surgeries, and inpatient care. Future expenses will include chemo and possibly surgery and targeted therapies.

The funds will also be used to pay for the costs associated with cancer treatment, such as medical supplies, nursing care, medical travel, and lost income from Laura being unable to work and Brock missing some work to attend appointments with and care for Laura.

Brock, Arielle (a friend), and other friends will be posting updates, all with Laura and Brock's permission.
