I'm reaching out on behalf of my little sister, Laura, who is currently facing one of the hardest challenges of her life — a recent diagnosis of breast cancer.

Laura is a devoted mother of four, including a pair of energetic, always-hungry pre-teen twin boys. She works full-time and has health insurance, but the financial strain of cancer treatment is still overwhelming. Even with coverage, out-of-pocket medical costs and everyday living expenses are expected to mount quickly.

Laura is scheduled for surgery next week, and afterward, she'll begin radiation treatment. She won’t be able to work during this time. While she has applied for short-term disability, it will only replace a small portion of her regular income.

We are trying to ease some of the financial pressure so Laura can focus on what matters most: healing and being there for her family.
