Hi, my name is Jamie Moyer, and I’m reaching out for help to support my mom, Laura, and her husband, Doug. This year has been incredibly tough for them, as they’ve faced challenges that tested their faith, strength, and resilience. Doug’s health issues have severely impacted his mobility, and despite these hardships, my mom has been working over 60 hours a week just to make ends meet and cover their growing medical needs.

As if that weren’t enough, Hurricane Milton dealt them an unimaginable blow by leaving their home, in Nokomis, Florida, uninhabitable. The storm ripped the entire roof off their house, leaving it lying beside the structure. Inside, the ceiling is crumbling, and flooding has caused extensive mold damage, forcing them to part with many personal belongings.

Laura and Doug are doing everything they can to rebuild, including submitting applications for assistance through the appropriate agencies. However, the process takes time, and these funds only cover a small portion of the total expenses needed to rebuild their lives.

I’m creating this GoFundMe to help them with essential costs that insurance and relief programs won’t cover. Any contribution—big or small—will make a difference and go directly to the family as they navigate this difficult chapter.
