Help Laura and Daniel Not Lose Their House
Donation protected
After years of sharing and donating to my own friends' fundraisers, I hoped to stave off finding myself in the same position for as long as possible. But here I am: a chronically ill human at the very, very, very end of a fraying rope.
My husband Daniel, who works tirelessly at two jobs to support us, had to recently take two weeks off for his mental health. He was informed by his employer that this would be covered so long as he had a doctor's note (which he provided). We survived over a week on only $500, being exceptionally careful with each purchase and skipping meals to stretch it as far as possible. Postponing medical care. Cancelling subscriptions.
The payday that should have given us $1600 today was, horrifically, $1200 short. Only $400 in the bank to last us the next two weeks and with nothing left over for our mortgage come April. The mortgage that we've been late on too many times, and so now they are threatening eviction...
If you know me personally, you know that I do not take this act of asking for assistance lightly. I am generally very private (particularly about my struggles), and I know that there is so much going on in the world that is asking for your attention. Unfortunately I do not know where else to turn but for the generosity of the community I have tried to foster over the years.
If you have read this far, I thank you, and I thank you for whatever amount of kindness you are able to offer us in this terrifying time of our lives.
