Last month I was laid off from a company I had just joined. I was devastated and confused. I had just left my role as a school principal to join an educational tech organization that I was really passionate about and that would provide me with more flexibility to be home with my wife, four children, and fifth child who was days away from being born. Despite all of this, I was at peace. I knew that regardless of what was going on in my life, God was still in control and none of this was a surprise to him. You might be asking how, but it was because I have already walked through worse. You see, five years ago, I was diagnosed with bipolar 2 after having a stress cardiomyopathy because of extreme stress at work with the school I had founded. At this time I was even more confused and didn't know what life ahead would look like or where to turn. But God, provided and has continued to provide. Over the last five years, my wife and I have thrown ourselves into better understanding my diagnosis, mental health and mental illness, the difficulties individuals face overcoming addiction, and how to support others through what can often be the most difficult and scary moments in their lives. After taking some time to pray on what God was doing after being laid off and seeking counsel from others in our lives, it became clear that God was directing us to support others with our learned experiences, education, and God's wisdom in our lives through mental health and family coaching. We have seen too often that when people are struggling with their mental health or diagnosed with mental illness, they don't know what is next, where to turn or how to navigate the complex world of mental health supports. Our goal with Valley Christian Mental Health and Family Coaching, is to walk alongside individuals and families as they navigate life’s challenges, offering faith-based support rooted in the comforting truth of Psalm 23:4: "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me". We strive to provide a compassionate, structured, and spiritually grounded approach to mental health and family coaching, guiding our clients toward peace, clarity, and purpose through God’s wisdom. Whether facing personal struggles, a recent mental health/illness diagnosis, or trying to support a loved one, we are here to help. We want Valley Christian Coaching to offer guidance from personal experience, structure, and hope in life’s darkest valleys, moving from surviving to thriving in recovery.
