We're building a movement to end homelessness. Will you join us?
We dream of a coalition of churches, Christians, and faith-based nonprofits across the country working together--sharing successes and barriers, building power, rewriting narratives--to end homelessness in America. This coalition–new in affiliation but rooted deeply in historical
ministry and expertise–is called the National Faith Coalition to End Homelessness.
In 2026, our goals include
- launching a "National Homelessness Sunday" on October 11, where hundreds of churches across the country will engage the topic through their worship, supported and empowered by us with messaging, a sample sermon, sunday school curriculums, song recommendations, and prayers and liturgies
- developing toolkits for churches to engage homelessness in both immediate and long term ways (how to engage with the person sleeping on church property, how to stand up a winter shelter, how to utilize your parking lot to help those who sleep in their cars, etc.)
- hosting our first of many virtual trainings to connect with leading experts in the faith community on various homelessness response methods that you can use
- formalizing our leadership and nonprofit status
In order to do this well, we need a financial runway. While we're seeking out long-term funding strategies and grant opportunities, we can't wait another day to get started. Your funding will help us this year to:
- Produce a video featuring those with lived experience of homelessness to show on Homelessness Sunday
- Table at key conferences to spread the word and recruit churches and homeless service providers to the movement
- Market in key publications (Sojoiurners, Christian Century) about our work and how to join
- Create, print, and distribute resources and toolkits for churches to engage during Homelessness Sunday and beyond
- Formalize our coalition (501c3, liability insurance, branding, etc.)
Crosswinds Church in Livermore is generously allowing us to use their 501(c)3 to collect funding, and also to provide financial oversight and accountability during our launch phase. All funds given through this campaign will go toward the National Faith Coalition to End Homelessness.
Thank you so much!
