Help Launch the Centreville Spy this Summer

The proposed Centreville Spy nonprofit online newspaper will provide a hyper-local focus on the community’s public affairs, including the coverage of the Centreville Town Council and, when required, Queen Anne’s County Council. It will also provide its readers a daily email report at 3 pm sharp for those signed up for our free subscription.
And like its fellow Spy newspapers in) Chestertown (2009), Talbot (2011), and Cambridge (2021), it will be a comprehensive portal for local arts and regional culture.
It also plans to encourage local writers to celebrate the town’s unique qualities and provide commentators with a safe and respectful venue to share opinions and different points of view.
Finally, the Centreville Spy will also be a gateway to Queen Anne’s County as it documents and shares QAC’s unique challenges and opportunities, placing a spotlight on the sometimes unseen but powerful sense of place that exists for its 50,000 residents.
Thanks to the Arthur Kundner Fund at the Mid-Shore Community Foundation, and other lead contributors, we can announce this special matching gift challenge to the greater Centreville community to help raise $10,000 this summer to kickstart the Centreville Spy and help cover its modest costs for the balance of 2023.
It takes a community to support community news. Please join us to make this possible for Centreville.
And with special thanks for the aerial photography of Noah Frahm.
