Help Bring the Breaking Bad RV Hot Air Balloon to Life

This dream has been more than a decade in the making.

In 2015, we began the process of creating a Breaking Bad RV hot air balloon by hiring Adam’s Balloons and placing a substantial deposit to begin construction. Tragically, in 2020, Andy, the owner, passed away unexpectedly. With his passing, the project came to a halt, and we lost the original deposit. While this was a heartbreaking setback, our thoughts remain with Andy’s family and loved ones. We honor his memory by continuing the vision he helped start.

Breaking Bad is more than a television series. It is a worldwide cultural phenomenon with deep roots in New Mexico. Albuquerque is where the story was created, filmed, and brought to life. This balloon is intended as a tribute to the state, its film community, and the fans from around the world who travel here to experience the places that made the show iconic.

We have recently been approved for partial funding through a grant/loan, covering approximately half of the total build cost. However, to complete the project, we must still raise more than $75,000. The total estimated cost to design, construct, and certify the balloon is approximately $200,000. All funds raised through this campaign will be used exclusively toward the construction, certification, and completion of the Breaking Bad RV hot air balloon.

Once completed, the balloon is planned to debut at the New Mexico International Balloon Fiesta, one of the most recognized ballooning events in the world. After its debut, the balloon is intended to travel to balloon festivals nationally and internationally as scheduling and approvals allow. Any appearance fees earned will be applied toward repaying the approved loans or grants associated with this project.

This balloon is intended to be a one-of-a-kind fan experience and a moving tribute to New Mexico’s lasting impact on film and television. It will help attract visitors to Albuquerque, support local hotels, restaurants, and businesses, and highlight the creative legacy that continues to draw fans from around the globe.

To be ready for Balloon Fiesta 2026, funding must be secured and scheduled payments made by February 15, 2026.

This is a significant undertaking, but one we believe is worth pursuing. With the support of the community and Breaking Bad fans worldwide, we hope to bring this long-held vision to life and create something truly unforgettable for New Mexico.
