Stop The Rats was founded after seeing firsthand how much of a problem rats have become in our city. Over the past year, I’ve been working to test the market demand and logistics for practical solutions—patching holes in people’s trash cans, adding numerical address stickers, and researching other upgrades to help keep trash cans sealed. Through this work, I’ve seen how much homeowners want to protect their homes and neighborhoods from the damage and health risks that rats bring.

Now, I’m ready to take Stop The Rats to the next level. The funds raised here will help me officially establish the business, pay for administrative and governmental registration, build a legal entity, and secure the necessary business licenses and insurance. I’ll also use your support to purchase supplies like instructional stickers, tools to rapidly seal cans, and to invest in marketing that will generate awareness for this important movement. Looking ahead, I plan to develop a web application and, in the future, a mobile app to make it even easier for homeowners to request repairs and upgrades for their trash cans.

Your support will also help us train 'Alley Captains'—community leaders who will champion the cause of rat-proofing their alleys and guide their neighbors in these efforts. We’ll invest in tools to monitor changes in rat populations using cameras and facilitate the distribution of rat birth control for use in the alleys. These steps will help us create a safer, cleaner city for everyone.
