Help Launch Small is All Productions!

Most plays and performances available for youth in the Triangle community are a great fit for ages 6 and up, leaving the 0-5 age group vastly underserved in the arts. Small is All Productions is a theatre company dedicated to creating theatre performances specifically for very young children and their caregivers to fill this gap in the Triangle area arts ecosystem. Our name comes from adrienne maree brown’s Emergent Strategy principle : “Small is all… what we practice at the small scale can reverberate to the largest scale.” Caregivers know that tiny humans are full of big feelings, energy, questions and needs. Small is All artists have the experience and curiosity required to make theatre that serves the unique needs of our youngest community members and their caregivers. When you contribute to this fundraiser, you are helping to establish the area’s first theatre collective dedicated to theatre for the very young.

ABOUT THE PREMIERE PRODUCTION
Small is All’s first production is Circle and Square, a play designed for ages 2-5 and their parents/caregivers to attend and enjoy together. This play was originally developed by Lexington Children’s Theatre in 2017, and in 2025 it will have its local premiere in North Carolina with Small is All. In this interactive, mostly nonverbal story, audiences meet the free spirit Circle, followed by highly structured Square. These two characters have a hard time figuring out how to play together because they are so different. Throughout the play, Circle and Square discover each other's unique gifts and how they can be combined to have even more fun together than apart.

WHO WE ARE
Small is All Productions is led by Meredyth Pederson Cooper who has over a decade of experience creating theatre for multiple generations to enjoy together. Meredyth was one of the original artists who created Circle and Square at Lexington Children’s Theatre in 2017, the production that launched LCT's TVY programming. Small is All’s performance company for its production of Circle and Square includes local theatre artists, Erin Hanehan (Circle), Amelia Lumpkin (Square) and Jeremy Vance (stage manager / sound operator).

WHAT FUNDING WILL SUPPORT
This fall fundraiser will support the official launch of Small is All Productions in 2025. The list is long when it comes to all the upstart costs involved, especially to do this well: props, set, costumes, website, marketing, production photography, videography, articles of incorporation, transportation, liability coverage. Most importantly, your contribution will ensure I am able to pay the brilliant artists working on this play, who have so far volunteered their time and energy to bring this play to the community. Your contribution will help Small is All establish a strong foundation and provide engaging, creative and affordable theatre experiences for our audiences.

HOW I CAN THANK YOU
Supporting the launch of Small is All Productions at any level that feels right to you is appreciated! If you choose to support at the following levels, there are some specific ways I’d like to thank you:

  • $30 and up - handwritten thank you from Meredyth
  • $50 and up - recognition as a supporter in Circle and Square program and Small is All website
  • $100 and up - 2 tickets to the 2025 premiere performance of Circle and Square in Raleigh, NC
