The idea started many years ago when my son, Rylan, was attending basketball skills training. I would help the director to offset the cost of Rylan attending. The director of the academy had asked if I would conduct a skills camp for the new kids and returning kids. I said sure! I figured the years I spent working The Snow Valley Basketball camp would help. Well there turned out to be close to 100 kids. I think I had two other people help! My wife Melissa said the parents were impressed with the way the camp was run. She said that night I need to run my own academy and basketball training program. I was reluctant as Rylan was young and I was coaching HS hoops year around. Fast forward 12 years.
I have been at my school for 16 years. The building of the program has been challenging but it is a good place. The one thing lacking is getting experienced players. Yes, we get one good player each year. But the rest of the players never played basketball so we must develop. 25-26 was a year of promise. But losing our two best players, we fell short of our goals and expectations and missed the playoffs.
I realized now I need to create an off season program that will allow our players to get experience in club ball and create a feeder program. Thus the club basketball and basketball academy.
i an starting a new club basketball organization, Relatores Open Court Hoops or ROC Hoops. I will be the director of the program. I’m trying to raise funds to help the club get started with uniforms, pay for tournament fees & training equipment. The club seasoned starts in the spring.
Please consider donating to help me fund the program. I truly would appreciate any help I can get.
Thank you
