I am creating a new online series called Rethinking Society with Verdandi Weaver.

The series will begin with at least 100 videos, together with online conversations, livestreams, and smaller circles where people can think together about the kind of society we are building and the kind of society we might still create.

The questions are large, but they are also deeply ordinary.

What is society actually for?

Should the economy serve human life, or should human life continue to be shaped around the economy?

What happens when work drains people faster than rest can restore them?

Why do we treat care, parenting, teaching, healing, listening, repairing, growing food, and holding communities together as less valuable than profit?

What would healthcare, education, leadership, housing, technology, peace, and work look like if human beings were placed back at the centre?

This project grows from my book The Great Reconnection, which is about returning to the self, the Earth, and each other.

But reconnection cannot remain only an inner feeling.

Once we remember that people need rest, belonging, meaning, safety, care, and dignity, we also have to look honestly at the systems we have built around us.

That is where this series begins.

Not with a perfect political plan, I do not have it.

Not with the claim that I have all the answers.

It begins with questions.

Questions that may help us loosen some of the things we have accepted as inevitable.

I want to create these videos freely and make the main series available to everyone. I also want to hold online live conversations where people from different places can meet, share lived experience, and imagine something more humane together.

I am asking for help because creating a series of this size takes time, tools, research, recording, editing, captions, visuals, music, online platforms, and the practical space to keep producing it.

I am not building this as a polished institution.

I am beginning as one person with a camera, a body of work, a great many questions, and a deep belief that we can do better than the systems we inherited.

Sometimes I think we have become very skilled at producing garbage, exhaustion, loneliness, suffering, and destruction, and then calling the rising numbers growth.

But what if a society measured something else?

Health.

Time.

Trust.

Belonging.

Clean water.

Safe homes.

Children who do not grow up afraid.

People who still have enough of themselves left to love one another.

That is the conversation I want to open.
