Ranger’s Recovery was founded to help children in Bryan County, Oklahoma, and Grayson County, Texas, begin their journey of healing through horses, nature, and the compassionate love of Christ. Our mission is to reach children from all backgrounds—those with disabilities, those who have experienced abuse or loss, and any child in need of hope and support. We believe that every child deserves a safe place to heal, grow, and discover their purpose.
Our inspiration comes from seeing the urgent need in our community. Bryan County has a higher rate of confirmed child abuse and neglect than the state average, with many children facing neglect, physical, emotional, or sexual abuse. We are committed to working alongside Oklahoma DHS Child Welfare Services, Southern Oklahoma Mental Health Center, Court Appointed Special Advocates, and local youth shelters to reach as many children as possible.
Ranger’s Recovery will offer a three-year program focused on building trust, faith, and resilience. Through hands-on experiences with horses and time spent in nature, children will learn to cope with pain, build confidence, and trust in God’s plan for their future. Our Board of Directors—Nadine Powell, Annette Sykes, Debbie van Staden, and Anton van Staden—are dedicated to making this vision a reality. We are seeking support to cover the legal and filing fees needed to incorporate and obtain tax-exempt status, so we can begin serving children as soon as possible. Your support will help us lay the foundation for lasting change in our community.
