Hi there, I'm Ebony Mckenna, one of the three women founders of Polipedia.com.au.
Polipedia is all about political transparency to help people stay informed about what's going on in politics in Australia.
Australians have become cynical and disengaged with politics and politicians. We have forgotten (or been encouraged to forget) what a functioning democracy looks like.
Information is out there, but it's hard to find and hard to collate. There is little transparency about politicians and their interests, investments or what influences shape their decisions. Biased legacy media choose what to report and constrain information.
Polipedia will be an independent platform that levels the playing field for every voting Australian.
Su Dharmapala, Dr Sally Stockbridge and I are working hard to get Polipedia.com.au up and running before the next Federal election, which could be any time between now and May 21, 2022.
We're meeting with AI developers to create tools including:
Searchable Hansard, searchable MPs' voting records, attendance records, standing FOI (Freedom of INformation) requests, political social media verification (how many bot-like followers they have or how many people they block) and the big one: SOCIAL MEDIA SENTIMENT TRACKING! Why wait for an opinion poll that represents only a few thousand respondents, when we can the real vibe from tens of thousands of engaged voters, in real time?
Yes, we've formed a company already, and we are spending our own money to make this happen. We're working with (and paying) clever people to create an investor pack that helps us explain to angel investors what Polipedia is, how it will work, and how it will make politics work for you.

Every time we mention Polipedia on twitter, people ask us if we have a crowdfunding platform they can donate to - so here we are.
Welcome aboard!
