Hi — I’m Michael Callahan, a dad of two, and I’m building NorthEast Education Initiatives, known as NEED Initiatives — a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit in formation focused on educational equity and family-centered support.
Our goal
We plan to help families navigate IEP/504 processes and disability-related supports by providing practical guidance (records/timelines, meeting prep, next steps) and — when possible— offer families trained advocates who can attend school meetings alongside them so they don’t have to walk in alone.
Why I’m fundraising
I’m raising funds to personally cover the foundational capacity-building work required to launch responsibly — especially governance/compliance review and essential filing/admin setup.
How funds will be used
- Governance & compliance readiness - review of bylaws and core policies, adoption readiness, and a board-ready governance package/checklist.
- Filing & admin setup - required filing/records costs, certified copies as needed, postage/printing/notary, and basic recordkeeping supplies.
