Edit 6/28: What a journey it's been since April! I found out shortly after starting this gofundme that I got into graduate school for Chemical Engineering, but only confirmed last week that I will actually be able to go. That information changes what my life will look like after this pause, but I still need help to get there.
I will be going to graduate school in Michigan starting this fall, and will be moving at the end of July. In order to get there and sustain myself I need to accomplish the following things:
- Secure a new apartment
- Move myself and the belongings I am able to Michigan
- Continue building the foundation of my consulting business (see below) as a source income while I'm in school
What I'm doing:
- Focusing on balancing my chronic illness. I think it is long covid, but there are no direct tests. I have felt better in the last few weeks, but have to be diligent while discovering my new baseline. It is scary, and I am hoping not to have another serious flare-up.
- Cleared out my 401k to pay my bills for July and have the funds for first month/deposit and to get myself up to Detroit
- As many Spark deliveries as I can and other small jobs so I can get the urgent cash needed
- Studying! It has been 10 years since I was last in college, and much of what I'll be studying is new to me information. Since April I've been in a 5 days a week practice of studying to refresh for the upcoming semester.

Original: I am currently unemployed and looking for help with starting a consulting firm. I will be offering services that I have developed over the last 9 years in my professional career and through owning my own business. These funds will cover the startup costs for my new venture.
I successfully ran a hand-dyed yarn business called Fully Spun for 7 years. I was impacted by the pandemic and health challenges which resulted in me closing the business in 2023. I had been employed since January 2022 and became unemployed in February of this year. I have been dealing with some health challenges along with reevaluating my desired career direction.
