Hi, my name is Andre Brevard, and I’m starting a nonprofit called Hands & Hearts Studio — a place where creativity, healing, and community come together.

This project means more to me than words can say. September last month, I lost my little brother — someone who inspired me deeply with his creativity, kindness, and drive. That loss changed everything for me. It made me realize how important it is to create a space where people can come together, heal, and express themselves through art and connection.

At Hands & Hearts Studio we will host community arts and crafts events, creative workshops, and programs that bring people together to find peace and purpose.

We have a fully established board of seven dedicated directors, all united by the same mission and vision. Our organization already operates with formal bylaws, structured policies, and governance systems in place.

Our mission is to provide a welcoming space where people of all ages can heal, connect, and grow through hands-on art experiences — especially for those who might not otherwise have access to creative programs or materials.

We believe art can change lives — it builds confidence, encourages self-expression, and creates community. From youth art workshops and family craft nights to mental wellness art sessions, Hands & Hearts Studio will make creativity accessible to everyone.

To make this dream official, we need to cover the startup filing costs to become a recognized nonprofit organization. These are one-time government fees required to legally establish Hands & Hearts Studio:

$75 — New York State Articles of Incorporation

$600 — IRS 501(c)(3) Application Fee (Full Form 1023)

$125 — Miscellaneous printing, mailing, and notary etc.

Right now we are raising $800 to cover the nonprofit filing fees so we can make this dream a reality. Once we’re officially recognized, we can start applying for grants, building programs, and serving the community full-time.
