Help Launch FLORIDA 27 RECYCLE, Recycling for the Gulf Coast

Hi, we are Christy and Richard Bracken. A few years ago, we moved to Port St. Joe to embrace Florida's Gulf Coast, enjoying its beautiful beaches, charming communities, and, of course, fresh Gulf seafood. But we quickly noticed an issue—our trash cans were overflowing every week. It became clear that much of the Gulf Coast lacked curbside recycling, and we weren't alone in this struggle. We thought about the hundreds of thousands of guests visiting our beaches and the millions who vacation on Florida’s Gulf Coast, all likely experiencing the same thing: overflowing trash cans filled with plastic bottles, soda cans, and other packaging.

As avid recyclers, we decided to do something about it and started a recycling collection service, Florida 27 Recycle. We've registered with the State of Florida and gained the support of our local communities.

We are now ready to launch a full-service recycling program, spanning from St. George Island to Mexico Beach, with plans to expand across the entire Gulf Coast.

With your support, we can keep our beaches beautiful, reduce landfill impact, and create jobs in our communities. We’re working to raise $160,000 by October 31st to purchase the equipment that will drive this change.
