Hello! My name is Kundai Murapa.

Film and television depend on people putting in long, demanding days. For Crew, Cast and Stunts, looking after yourself has to fit around early calls, late wraps and schedules that can change overnight.

Training gets pushed aside. Recovery time is limited. Keeping a consistent routine becomes difficult when every working week looks different.

My work in stunts is what connects me personally to this challenge. It’s also why I’m building Fit2Film: a fitness and wellness system designed around the realities of production life.

Based in Cape Town, Fit2Film will bring together practical training, mobility, recovery and nutrition support for the people working on productions. The aim is to help participants build routines that work around their schedules and prepare for the physical demands of their roles.

What we’re raising money for

We’re raising C$5,000 to build the first working version of Fit2Film and run a small, free pilot with people across Crew, Cast and Stunts. Funds will help launch Fit2Film properly, including the legal business infrastructure needed to operate professionally.

Fit2Film will initially run through Trainerize, an existing coaching platform. This lets us focus on creating the programs, content and participant support needed to get started.

The pilot will give participants a chance to use Fit2Film around their working lives and tell us what needs improving before we open it more widely.

How the funds will be used

Donations will contribute towards:

Setting up Trainerize and the participant onboarding process.

Developing the initial training programs and filming supporting content.

Founder and specialist time to build, deliver and refine the pilot.

Reaching initial participants and supporting them through the program.

Essential business setup, payment and transfer costs, and a contingency for unexpected expenses.

We’ll keep the first phase focused on what we can realistically deliver within the funds raised and share updates as the project develops.

What happens after the pilot

Fit2Film is being developed as a paid service. After the free pilot, subscriptions will help cover ongoing coaching, content and platform costs.

Donations support the launch and pilot. They don’t purchase membership, coaching or other rewards, and pilot participation won’t depend on donating.

My name is Taylor Ross. Fit2Film is based in Cape Town, South Africa. Kundai is a friend of mine and the beneficiary of this campaign! I’m organizing this fundraiser from Canada because GoFundMe does not currently support organizers based in South Africa.

I will receive the donations into my Canadian bank account and transfer the funds, less any applicable payment, currency conversion and transfer costs, to Kundai in South Africa for the Fit2Film project described above. We will keep records of those transfers and share updates on how the funds are used.
