Help Launch Compassionate Midwifery Care
Donation protected
Chicago is recognized as a maternal health desert for many reasons. This reality is particularly devastating for women, especially Black women.
In 2025, I am excited to introduce holistic and compassionate midwifery care to the vibrant city of Chicago and its neighboring suburbs. This initiative represents a profound and revolutionary celebration of reclaiming and empowering Black reproductive power, fostering a nurturing environment where every individual's journey is honored and supported. Together, we will create a welcoming space that prioritizes wellness, choice, and dignity in the birthing experience, celebrating the unique heritage and strength of our community.
This fund has been thoughtfully created to support my aspiration of financing my midwifery board examinations and gathering essential supplies to launch a vibrant midwifery practice. Our aim is to bring together our community in a powerful show of unwavering support and affirmation for a young midwife who is committed to dramatically enhancing access to exceptional home birth care for families. By fostering a nurturing environment, I hope to empower families to experience the miracle of childbirth in the comforting embrace of skilled midwives. Together, we can transform the landscape of maternal and infant care, ensuring that every family has the opportunity to benefit from high-quality, compassionate support.
These funds will be distributed directly to help obtain essential equipment and tools for providing high-quality care to Black mothers and birthing people in Chicago.
I am extremely grateful that you have joined me in recognizing and supporting the importance of this moment by contributing to this blessing fund!
My vision is to make safe, comprehensive home birth care a viable option for families in Chicago and the surrounding area, regardless of their demographic background. I aim to help eliminate the racial disparities in birth outcomes among African American women and their babies. I want to offer care that makes women feel heard and valued. My desire is to see all families thrive and flourish, one healthy pregnancy and birth at a time.
For the past three years, I have dedicated myself to the rigorous training required to become a Certified Professional Midwife, and I am now ready to take the next step by sitting for my board exam. My journey began at the esteemed Midwest Maternal Child Institute, where I gained invaluable knowledge and hands-on experience in maternal and child health. Currently, I am furthering my education at Chamberlain University, where I am enrolled in a nursing program that will enhance my skills and deepen my understanding of holistic care. This ambitious path not only reflects my passion for midwifery but also my commitment to providing compassionate and informed care to families.
