Help Us Grow Brown Mountain Farm School
“Where childhood slows down and learning comes alive in God’s creation.”
Friend!
“Where floodwaters once swept through, faith, farming, and childhood are taking root.”
Imagine a place where floodwaters once wiped everything away—now echoing with the sound of children singing hymns, gathering eggs, and learning to love God’s creation with their whole hearts.
Welcome to Brown Mountain Farm School—a one-room, faith-based schoolhouse rising from the very soil once devastated by Hurricane Helene. Tucked beside Wilson Creek in Caldwell County, NC, this is more than a school. It’s a resilient rebirth, where education is sacred, hands get muddy, and learning happens through wonder, worship, and work.
We’re blending faith-based education, nature immersion, and farm life to offer children a simpler, deeper, more intentional kind of learning:
Morning prayers by the river
Farm chores that teach responsibility and awe
Scripture memorized under the trees
❤️ A return to slow, sacred childhood
This is a school founded not on prestige or polish, but on purpose.
✨ What Your Gift Builds
We are raising $50,000 to finish building and launching our one-room schoolhouse this fall. Every dollar helps us provide:
✅ A furnished classroom—tables, chairs, shelves, books, and warm, welcoming spaces
✅ Curriculum and living books—materials that spark imagination and deepen faith
✅ Tools for outdoor learning—baskets, boots, journals, art supplies, and nature kits
✅ Scholarships—so no family is turned away due to cost
✅ A space for worship—where we gather weekly to sing, pray, and grow in God’s Word
This isn’t just for “our” kids—it’s for our whole community. Your gift builds something lasting right here in Caldwell County—a place where children grow strong in body, mind, and spirit.
❤️ Meet the Heart Behind the School
Ms. Melissa Reynolds (The one behind this computer) taught in public schools for years—until a Bible verse (Genesis 50:20) and a tug on my heart led me here, to muddy boots and miracle moments on the farm.
Jeremy and Kelsey bring a blend of military service, homeschooling, and homesteading—but most of all, we bring the heartbeat of a foster and adoptive family rooted in Christ.
Together, we believe that childhood is sacred—and that God has big plans for every little soul we teach.
How You Can Join the Story
Donate whatever you can—$5, $500, or $5000—every bit matters
Share this with your church, your neighbors, your mama group, your co-workers
Pray that God continues to provide, open doors, and guide every step
This is a community-built school—and we’re inviting you to help build it. Whether you’re a grandparent, a pastor, a business owner, or just someone who believes in the power of good soil and God’s Word—we’d be honored to have you in this story.
Let’s plant something eternal. Let’s give our kids the kind of education that teaches them to love God, love creation, and love learning.
If you want to learn a little more about our curriculum or our day to day or you have a homesteading passion and want to volunteer, check out our website brownmountainfarmschool.com for more information.
