Beautiful Broken: Connecting People to Mental Health Help Across Massachusetts
When someone is struggling with their mental health, the hardest part is often knowing where to turn. Beautiful Broken exists to make that first step easier.
I'm Brittany Lynn Mahan, and I founded Beautiful Broken on October 1, 2019, with one belief: our broken pieces don't make us less, and no one should have to search for help alone. What started as a show about emotional intelligence, built on lived experience, has grown to 43 episodes and a community of people who believe in honest conversations about mental health.
Along the way, we took on something bigger. We've gathered 492 mental health and substance use resources across Massachusetts into one directory, organized town by town, and we're reaching out to each of them to confirm their information. Once our website is built, anyone will be able to choose their town and find support near them. Beautiful Broken is now a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and this website is the next step in bringing the directory to the people who need it.
What we're raising money for
We're raising $5,000 to bring Beautiful Broken to the people who need it. Your gift will help us:
Build our website to host the town-by-town directory so anyone in Massachusetts can find help quickly and easily.
Maintain the site to keep it running, secure, and up to date as resources change and new ones are added.
Host our Introductory Party on Saturday, October 24, 2026, a dinner for 60 guests where we'll introduce Beautiful Broken, share our vision, preview the directory, and welcome our first Founding Members.
How you can help
Every donation, no matter the size, helps someone find the support they need. If you can't give right now, sharing this page is just as powerful. Thank you for believing in this mission and for being part of Beautiful Broken from the very beginning.
With gratitude,
Brittany Lynn Mahan, Founder
