Hi, my name is Shayna Meron, and here is my dream: Paws & Sip.
I’ve dreamed of opening a space where community, comfort, and cats come together. Paws and Sip is more than just a café — it’s a cozy, welcoming environment where people can unwind with fresh pastries, lovingly made drinks, and the calming presence of adoptable cats.
I'm opening Bakersfield’s first cat café — a place that blends delicious, made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls and lattes with a relaxing, thoughtfully designed cat lounge where cats can play, nap, and (hopefully!) find their forever homes.
Why Paws & Sip is asking for Help
Starting a brick-and-mortar business is expensive, especially one that also serves as a safe haven for animals. I’ve already filed all my paperwork, and am working through the final stages of getting a small business loan. But, sometimes even with a solid plan, you just need a little boost.
I’m raising funds to help cover:
- Renovations (including a custom-built cat lounge and air filtration)
- Café equipment
- Cat furniture, toys, and supplies
- Starting inventory and ingredients
- Startup costs until we’re self-sustaining
Your support will go directly toward making this dream possible — helping me create a one-of-a-kind place in Bakersfield where cats, coffee, and community come together.
