Hello, my name is LoyAnn Sherwood, and I am the CEO and Founder of AppLuxe℠ App Marketplace.
For 25 years, I worked in the healthcare industry, often putting in 60-hour weeks because I loved helping people. That work gave my life purpose and stability—until 2019, when everything changed in an instant.
One evening, after a long shift, I fell asleep at the wheel while driving home. My car ran off the road and hit a tree head-on. I survived—but I was badly injured. I spent 30 days in the hospital and another 30 days in rehabilitation. I broke my left leg in three places, fractured my wrist, injured my neck, and broke multiple bones throughout my body.
After that accident, I could no longer work the way I once did. I applied for disability, and overnight my income dropped from $100,000 per year to just $30,000. Since then, life has been a constant struggle to keep up with everyday expenses.
But even after everything that happened, I refused to give up.
How AppLuxe Was Born
In 2026, I came across a domain name that instantly sparked something inside me—AppLuxe.com.
I believed it could become a powerful platform—a place where developers, startups, and businesses could discover, buy, and sell apps, software, and digital tools. I purchased the domain and started building.
Right now, AppLuxe is a blog, where we publish software insights, reviews, and marketplace-related content. Starting with a blog allowed us to begin building visibility and credibility step-by-step.
But the real goal is much bigger.
My dream is to turn AppLuxe into a full App & Software Marketplace—a place where creators can sell digital downloads, developers can showcase their tools, and businesses can find the software solutions they need.
We’ve built the foundation. Now we need help to build the platform itself.
Living With Injuries and Ongoing Health Challenges
Since my accident, life has not been easy. I continue to live with ongoing health challenges that affect my strength, mobility, and daily comfort. Recently, I even fractured my big toe after a fall—another reminder of how fragile life can feel.
Some days, just moving around the house is difficult. Yet even through pain and recovery, I continue working on AppLuxe—planning content, directing tasks, and pushing forward step-by-step.

The Reality We Face Every Month
Living on disability income means living month-to-month.
There have been times when my husband and I went to the grocery store only to have our debit card declined, leaving us embarrassed and worried about how we would get through the week.
Unexpected costs continue to pile up; medical care, household expenses, and basic living costs. Even routine expenses sometimes become difficult to manage, and we often find ourselves stretching every dollar just to make it through the month.
Despite all of this, we continue to push forward because giving up is not an option.

Today, I am raising $5,000 to $10,000 to move AppLuxe from a blog into a fully functional app marketplace.
